Chlamydia & Gonorrhea Testing with the NAAT (Nucleic Acid Amplification Test)

While the swab was once considered the gold standard of bacterial infection testing, urine testing with NAAT is quickly surpassing that method, mostly because of the accuracy and non-invasiveness of these tests.  Persons wanting to rule a Gonorrhea or Chlamydia infection should wait to be tested until at least the 7th day following a potential exposure.

While underreported, Chlamydia and Gonorrhea are still the two most common bacterial std's in the United States.
